Description:
Charles-Auguste de Berio was a Belgian violinist and composer. He was the founder of the French-Belgian (Franco-Belgian) school of music, and his style of playing was so cutting edge in the 19th century that his concerts in London and Paris caused a sensation. In 1896, The Strad, a magazine founded in England in 1890, published an article on Berio in which it praised his "technique as perfect, and his sound, though not loud, is beautiful and noble.
