Description:
Judas Priest is a British rock band that can be said to have created the heavy metal movement. Lead vocalist Rob Halford, also known as "Metal God," made his debut in September 1974 with the album "Rocka Rolla" and has been active as a central figure in the heavy metal scene ever since. In April 1980, Judas Priest released the album "British Steel" (No.34 on the U.S. album chart), and simultaneously embarked on the "British Steel Tour," a Europe-U.S.-only tour. The concert in Hempstead, New York on July 5 of the same year was recorded and broadcast for a program on PBS radio to promote the tour. This album is a live album recorded during the broadcast, and includes the encore and the complete concert. This tour was a challenge for the band in pursuit of full-fledged success in the U.S. The set list, which featured representative songs from their previous albums, was perfect for a live performance at this point in their career. Since no live album from this period has been officially released, this live archive CD is truly a long-awaited release for fans!
